Gene visits The Gateway to Hell
I'll be heading to Stull, Kansas this weekend. For those of you who don't know- Stull, KA is a rumored "gateway to hell". Basically the, most likely, false urban legend surrounds a fire in an old stone church and cemetery years ago. The story claims that all the parishoners perished in the blaze and the devil appeared. Every year the devil and sometimes recent tortured souls return to earth on halloween at midnight. The town of Stull has been flooded with curious trespassers for years. Once on halloween a crowd of 500 gathered before police dispersed the crowd shortly before Midnight, therefore no one saw the Devil. A post on RoadsideAmerica.com reports that this classic parishoner-burning fire happened long after the church moved across the street. And the fire just burned hay. I think I'm a little late for this craze but I'll report back and hopefully have something to tell you for Show 9. Urban Legend or not it's sounds like a creepy place.
