Known throughout the region as the “Green Lady of Burlington,” this restless spirit always appears as a gentle, pretty lady shrouded in a green mist.
As the legend goes… Back in the 1800s the Green Lady used to live near the Burlington graveyard. She was drowned mysteriously in a nearby pond. She’s green because, again as the legend goes, she’s covered with green slime. It looks like a green mist. If you disturb her grave, she’ll appear. She may also appear, as local kids have told, in the windows of her now-abandoned house.
