Columbus, MS - Memorial Day

At some point this weekend, between rubbing on the beer and drinking the sunscreen, take a moment and remember why we have this 3 day weekend and whom we should thank for it.

Memorial Day began as "Decoration Day". Two years after the Civil War ended, women in Columbus, Mississippidecorated the braves those men who had died in battle: Confederate and Union soldiers, together. To these women, they were all Americans. Today, as you should know, Memorial Day recognizes all of the fallen soliders from America's wars.
